Monument Island Popular Miami waterfront hangout
Pioneer, Prosperity, Industry and Education
On the island you can walk to the fenced memorial, but watch for sandspurs. Until interested parties can restore this decaying landmark, pretend the broken limbs and statue accessories are still intact. The four large figures at the base of the obelisk pay tribute to the spirit of Flagler's development – Pioneer, Prosperity, Industry and Education. There are a few scattered picnic tables and a set of volleyball posts. Otherwise you’re on your own, so bring what you need.
